There are many patients of Renal Failure and even other disease are unwilling
to take tests in hospital. In my opinion, there are two main reasons for their
unwillingness. On one hand, the cost of tests is a little high and the patients
of Renal Failure want to save money. On the other hand, there may no abnormal
symptoms after the test, which will make the patients of Renal Failure think it
is a waste. However, I think patients should think the test in hospital
according to another way. If they find disease according to the test before the
disease aggravates, they will save large amounts of money in the treatment. In
addition, patients of Renal Failure should be pleasant for they have no abnormal
symptoms in stead of complaining. Only if the patients of Renal Failure have
taken the tests can the doctors provided suggestions for them.
To patients of Renal Failure or the people who have problems in kidneys, I
list some common and routine tests for you.
1. GFR
Glomerular Filtration Rate is the best test to measure the level of kidney
function and determine the stage of kidney disease. Doctor can calculate it from
the results of your blood creatinine test, your age, race, gender and other
factors. Calculate the Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR), which is the best way
to tell how much kidney function you have. It is unnecessary to have another
test to know the GFR.
2. Ultrasound or CT Scan
Perform an ultrasound or CT scan to get a picture of your kidneys and urinary
tract. This tells your doctor whether your kidneys are too large or too small,
whether you have a problem like a kidney stone or tumor and whether there are
any problems in the structure of your kidneys and urinary tract.
3. Kidney Biopsy
Perform a kidney biopsy, which is done in some cases to check for a specific
type of kidney disease, see how much kidney damage has occurred and help plan
treatment. To do a biopsy, the doctor removes small pieces of kidney tissue and
looks at them under a microscope. Your doctor may also ask you to see a kidney
specialist who will consult on your case and help manage your care.
4. Blood Test
Blood Routine Examination is the most common test for almost all the disease
for we can analyse the elements in blood so as to find the abnormal factors.
There are many results or data need to take relevent tests, such as blood
pressure, sugar blood, blood fat and so on. If you want to get a more accurate
diagnosis, you must provide the information as detailed as possible. If you
still want to know more about the tests according to your disease, you can
